Pattern Review Simplicity 2337 - Nu’s Bridesmaid Dress

Pattern Description:
Misses dress with front and sleeve variations.

Pattern Sizing:
The sizing didn’t need any massive changes

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
As far as I followed the instructions it was spot on. As it was such a straightforward and easy pattern I was able to wing it a little.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The fit around the neckline was slightly out, but I think that may have been due to my shoulder seams being slightly out.

Fabric Used:
A thickish, rough silk and lining.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
  • Sleeves made from lace and lace attached to the neckline.
  • Lowered the neck line
  • Added bias binding to arm hole openings.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
  • Yes, it fit well, was a great length and an easy pattern.
  • This pattern was fitted to a larger busted girl and looked fabulous but may need adjustments for smaller busts.
Conclusion:
This pattern was wonderful and a great option for anyone wanting a basic shift dress. I thought it adapted to being a formal dress very well and could also see it being a good staple.

Plus look at this girl, she’s gorgeous!
