A new dress

I managed to "borrow" mum's machine and made myself a brand spanking new dress for Mr JPB and my engagement party at lovely Berth Restaurant at Docklands. The staff were so lovely and patient with the 35 of us and my crazy-camera-wielding-mum. Even with mum taking 5,000,000 photos I still only have this grainy one that was taken on my phone when I got home quite merry indeed. (Gran said I should have put more fabric in the top!)

So I love Burda Style, but I absolutely adore Weekend Designer. This was his Nautical Halter and sooo easy and I shirred for the very first time and it was easy and I loved it and I love the process of doing a pattern from scratch.

So I'm back on the wagon and "forgot" to take mum's machine back for another couple of weeks so hopefully, more sewing posts!

... now back to work...

Delightful...

Ahh... the city...
So I was at a conference late last week in Melbourne and next door to our building was Craft Victoria, oh, how I lingered! We had a delightful evening drinking punch at Madam Brussels and eating tempura at Edoya Japanese Restaurant.

Who knew a conference could be so delightful?

Country Women's Association Victorian State Exhibition

So not exactly cutting edge fashions but the handicraft was of amazing quality. And the cakes looked so lovely but because it was an exhibition no taste testers (dang!), and I didn't expect to be elbowed by little old ladies - but I was! Might develop bruises the little buggers and their bags and walkers - I joke, I joke!

Loved the rabbit cake, wanted to eat an ear.
Look at all the people! (and how intently they are scrutinizing everything)

Oh how I would've wished to nip one of these into my bag...

Yes that's right folks, doily's and tea cosies (actually that tea cosie with the flowers was my fav knitted item)

The oldies Love It. Love It. Bus loads of 'em. Couldn't get past them!
Ahhh... CWA.

Ahhh... the city.

The Dumpling House... The Sophistcants... Baber Bar... Lovelies!

Ahhh... the country.

On the way home... Wattle at the office... Nhill weekend...

Friday High Fives.

Bands. So hot right now. Have got home and sat in the driveway in my car singing along.

1. Phoenix (Lisatamania)

2. Sia (Breath Me - Fourtet remix)

3. Jeff Buckley (Hallelujah)

4. Florence and the Machines (*don't know the name of the song!! Frustrating!!*)

5. Regina Spector (That one about God being funny. What a voice)

And I have a depressing little tail of my poisonous thumb. I think I've tortured my poor little sunflowers that I was given for my birthday. Dang. Yes my friends, that is doctored paperclips holding the poor little things up. I gave them food! I gave them water! I gave them sunshine! I should be a god to them!

I'm off to the CWA (Country Women's Association) State Craft and Quilt show this morning for a look see. It's in St Arnuad and will be a lovely Friday morning activity.

Bring on the weekend xx j.
