Busy, busy, busy... and frozen hair.

I stitched the gorgeous snowflake pattern, but I didn't have time to stitch it into anything so I'm keeping it for a future project. But I must say I did enjoy how quickly and easy it was, plus I think it looks pretty good - Thanks The Floss Box! Also to be honest with you, I think I rather like cross stitch on plain fabric and not the grid they give you so I think I will try it free hand next time on a bag or something. I got a cool old cross stitch pack from our Salvo's which was a bit random, but cute and only a dollar... ahhh, Fernie Salvo's is the best.

What I did manage to complete (with the help from Miss Tineey) was birthday cakes for E and M. We couldn't hide M's from her so it ended up taking on a personality all of it's own. They're our little smiling snow men with goggle tans! Happy Birthday lovely girls xxAnd finally, I'm knitting another beanie (toque - if you're from Canada), love this navy blue; hate it how garter stitch always curls at the bottom.
So there you have it. Plus there has been the most awesome snow over the last 4 days, today the best of them all and I am stuck at work until 3pm! Here I am yesterday stuck in the powder in Cedar Bowl yesterday - freakin' awesome (and frozen hair)!

A little stitching

It's the gorgeous E's birthday on Monday so I am going to do a little cross stitch for her all inspired by The Floss Box, I'm using one of her snowflake patterns (snowflake 11), as we are in Fernie! The Floss Box has a giant heap of talent, look at this cute little thing!

Found here on her blog, but I am going to do this one. Wish me luck!

It snowed! Two days in a row!

Y'all, it snowed! Two days in a row! So I've strapped and tiger balm-ed my knee so that I could enjoy the pow pow (ahhhh, like my use of the lingo?!). And enjoy I did. Plus, today on every lift ride I was fascinated with the perfect snowflakes that were falling. I'm talking perrrrfect. Like you see in drawings. I promptly pointed them out to everyone, who all promptly replied, 'Yeaha, ... Jess we see them!'. But I like them and here is the best (and I realise blurry to the point of non recognition and not representative of their perfectness) photo I have.

This one was originally uploaded on Flickr by mommamia found here but they were just like this and so tineeeney weeeeney.

C'mon snow, dump on us for the next 7 weeks.

Cupcakes

I've twisted my knee, so snowboarding for the next few days are out. Which totally sucks. I have started knitting a beanie (to try and cross some people off my list) and today inspired by Gigi at Gigi Cakes and her delightful White Chocolate Raspberry Cupcakes and Epicute and her cute food, and Kim at Love in the Oven, I made cupcakes. They are very pink, very rich and slightly odd shaped, but I don't own a muffin tin or an electric beater and they taste wicked so it's all alright. Oh, and usually, when I try to bake things go wrong, like earthquakes and snowstorms and horrible tasting stuff, and this time they didn't. Happy Val Day (even though I pretend not to care about that holiday) Mr J xx

(hehe... so odd... hehe!)

I know it's early but... Patterns for J&N's wedding - part one

I know that I still won't be home for another 3 months, but I am reeeeeeeallllllly missing my sewing, it's been, like, 8 months! E-I-G-H-T months! Dang! So I'm planning and thinking about what I'm going to wear to J&N's wedding in June. I'm going to make it in navy blue to match my sparkly and simply beautiful engagement ring from Mr J because no one back home has seen it!

Anyway, getting side tracked, loving the vogue patterns:

Vogue V1030 - Maybe a bit hard to make in 2 weeks after a year off sewing, but look at that cute neck ruffle! hmmm...

Vogue V1076 - I would looooove to wear this, but, boning scares me! And it would have to be in black.

So I must keep looking, and within my skill level because I have limited time when I get back !

Offically, I love KaufmanFranco.

My love affair started with this KaufmanFranco dress which Taylor Swift wore to the Country Music Awards. I carried around a little picture and as soon as I got my new notebook it was pasted in. I love that it is plunging neck line but not all boob. I love that it has a fish tail ending, I love the black and black mesh detail on the top. Love all of it and it started my search for my wedding dress. I have changed my wedding dress idea a heaps now, but I am still in love with this dress and KaufmanFranco make the most amazing dresses! And they puts pockets in their dresses, they make them look so easy to wear.

Their stuff just look amazing on all shapes and sizes, so simple yet so elegant... ahhh.

ahhh... so in love xx j.

The F and N beanies!

Finally, some photos of my beanies, I love these beanies, these are the only ones I knit really, normally I change up the colours but these ones I had to knit quickly to send back to Australia before they went the Japan. So the black one is for N and the green one is for F. They got them in time, I hope they wear them in Japan! I knitted a green one and a purple one for the salvos.
More knitting to come!
